It depends on the chassis GVWR and your state regulations. Most of our Ford F-550/F-600 and Ram 5500 models fall under a 19,500-25,999 lb GVWR non-CDL threshold, while heavier Class 7-8 chassis like the International VO270 (33,000 lbs GVWR) typically require a CDL. Always verify local requirements before purchase.

Insulated booms, like those with Category C 46kV ratings, are engineered with dielectric materials to protect operators working near energized power lines. Non-insulated booms are typically used for general aerial maintenance, sign installation, or forestry work where live-line contact is not a concern, often at a lower cost.

Standard safety equipment includes outrigger interlocks with motion alarms, backup hydraulic pumps, fire extinguishers, DOT triangle kits, and dielectrically tested booms on insulated models. Many units also include TruGuard or similar insulated control systems, hydraulic platform leveling, and full LED lighting packages for jobsite visibility.
