It depends on the chassis GVWR. Many of our units, such as the Ford F-550 and Ram 5500 based models, are non-CDL compliant with a GVWR around 19,500 lbs. Heavier units like the 33,000 lb GVWR Versalift VO270 on an International or Ford F-750 chassis require a Commercial Driver's License. Always verify local state requirements before purchase.

Insulated aerial devices, like the Versalift VST-55-HDI with Category C 46kV insulation rating, are engineered with dielectric materials in the boom to protect operators working near energized power lines. Non-insulated units are typically used for general maintenance, sign work, or lighting installation where electrical contact risk is minimal, often at a lower cost.
